im just trying to figure out the practical meaning of torque..pls help !Compare 2 cars; peaktorque of 1 is 300Nm@1800rpm %26amp; of 2 is 300Nm@3500rpm;which will have better pick up?
The car that delivers 300Nm@1800RPM will have better acceleration.

They both have the same amount of torque, but the first engine delivers it at a lower RPM, meaning you will not have to accelerate for the same amount of time as the second engine to reach peak torque. In the 1800RPM engine you will get better pick-upCompare 2 cars; peaktorque of 1 is 300Nm@1800rpm %26amp; of 2 is 300Nm@3500rpm;which will have better pick up?
peaktorque of 300Nm@1800rpm , obviously has better pick up, but guzzles a lot of gas/petrol
