How do they compare and test cars?

How do they test and compare cars for magazines?

How do they pick the TOP 10 CARS?

Why if so, is it mostly done on track... you dont take your car to the track...|||They drive it in the city.

They drive it on the highway.

They see how much room they have and how practical they are.

They see how the cars drive and how they behave in wet and dry pavement or offroad.

They check acceleration and braking.

They check handling through the slalom(cones) Fastest car driving through the cones is best handling.

They check the steering feedback and throttle response and power for passing others.

They check fuel mileage.

They check price.

They even check materials quality and standard features and available optional features.

And some magazines see what is annoying about the car. For example, some newer Buicks or Saturn have chrome inside the car, which reflects sunlight into your eyes, which is a problem.

And sometimes, they drive them around a race track to see what is fastest.
