F1 cars are faster, they never stop accelerating on any of their tracks. Their carbon-carbon brakes are also phenominal compared to the steel brakes on Indy cars, an Indy car on an F1 course would have no brakes after a few corners. Power is believed to be similar at around 750 bhp, this is reasonably sure for Indy but only rumored for F1.
Next year F1 is looking at nearer 800hp and by 2010 or so, with energy recovery braking and surge power units, that is expected to be back up to 1100 bhp again, not that far short of the 1400 bhp turbo cars of the early 80s.|||Current F1 restrictions are for 2.4 liter V-8 configuration and therefore significantly reduce power output from 950 to 750 bhp. (Complete B.S but hey wait can a fan do?) A lot of politics goes on in FIA, some good, some bad. Hopefully it will lead to a good outcome.
Formula 1 trumps all cars in speed, weight, and handling.
