Are modern cars a lot different to work on compare to cars from 10-15-20 years ago?

I know that cars have more computers in them now and things like that, I'm considering learning how to take a car apart and put it back together again but I don't want to learn something that's going to be obsolete in 15 years or whenever hybrids or electrics take over|||first of all "stuck on me" what is obsolete is consider a classic to others, you probably didn't know, that when "body by fischer" (on all GM cars) use to make obsolete turn of the century (1900s) stage coaches, when the auto industry took over did they give up and become obsolete?!? no they retooled and do all the interiors of all GM cars,if you learn something you will always have that knowledge, then you can improvise to something else, a car is a car, what is the difference between internal combustion motor or an electric motor, the car is still going to have 4 wheels so if you learn how to take a car apart and put it back together what you think we are going to be flying in a george jetson air car and you learned gravity cars for nothing. go back to the corner and be the chick magnet you think you are!?!|||eventually it will be obsolete like in 20 years but in the mean time people will still drive used cars. Not everybody can afford the new electric cars or hybrid cars. I will also buy a cheap car and take it apart and put it back together. Then just learn to diagnose problems and you're good

|||yes newer cars tend to be more electrical component driven, but still have plenty of moving parts that cannot be replaced (as least as of yet). But remember there will always be used older cars to repair, and many core techniques and skills will always be necessary.|||cars are always evolving so what you learn today you will have to keep learning to keep up. this is why mechanics have to just about continually have to go back to school and why they make so much if they are to be any good. that's just the way it is.|||Yea, cars today are easier to drive which isn't necessarily a good thing cause that means that drivers are more bad. I always recommend learning to drive in an old car so you can handle yourself in any situation without the aid of modern equipments. You can't ask to learn something that won't be obsolete cause it will be, it's just like in computers only a little slower.|||i,ll put it this way.the older cars were a lot less difficult to work on then these cars today.some of these cars today you have to be a professor to figure them out.
